Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and research-driven Lecturer and Researcher in Intelligent Control and Automation to join our faculty. You will be at the forefront of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, bridging the gap between advanced mathematical control theory and practical autonomous systems. Your role is to foster a new generation of engineers capable of designing intelligent systems that learn, adapt, and operate autonomously in increasingly complex, real-world environments.
Job Responsibilities
Instructional Delivery: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, including Modern Control Theory, Robotics, Machine Learning for Control, Industrial Automation (PLC/SCADA), and Embedded Systems.
Curriculum Innovation: Develop cutting-edge curricula that integrate AI and deep learning into traditional control frameworks, with an emphasis on adaptive, predictive, and robust control strategies.
Research & Scholarship: Establish and lead a research laboratory focusing on areas such as autonomous mobile robots, human-robot interaction, multi-agent systems, or industrial process automation. Secure external research funding and publish in high-impact IEEE or similar journals.
Lab Leadership: Manage and mentor students in modern automation labs, utilizing advanced hardware (e.g., industrial robotic arms, UAVs, PLCs, and high-performance computing clusters).
Mentorship: Supervise Master’s and PhD students in their research theses, guiding them through the rigors of experimentation, simulation, and academic publishing.
Industry Collaboration: Partner with local manufacturing, tech, and robotics firms to apply research findings to real-world automation challenges, such as Industry 4.0 implementations.
Departmental Collaboration: Contribute to the development of the department’s strategic research direction and participate in academic committees, accreditation processes, and facility upgrades.
Job Requirements
Education: PhD in Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Robotics, or a related field is required.
Experience: A demonstrated track record of scholarly research, including peer-reviewed publications. Prior experience in teaching or research supervision at the tertiary level is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Strong mathematical foundation in control systems (linear/nonlinear control, optimal control).
Proficiency in programming for automation: MATLAB/Simulink, Python, C++, and experience with Robot Operating System (ROS/ROS2).
Hands-on experience with hardware implementation (FPGA, microcontrollers, PLCs) and simulation environments (Gazebo, Webots, or similar).
Soft Skills:
Research Vision: Ability to define and pursue a long-term, high-impact research agenda.
Translational Ability: Skill in explaining sophisticated theoretical control models to students and stakeholders in a way that highlights practical utility.
Collaborative Spirit: A proactive approach to working with colleagues across interdisciplinary boundaries (e.g., Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering).
Persistence: A resilient approach to complex problem-solving and experimental iterative design.
Benefits
Competitive Compensation: High-tier academic salary package, including start-up research funding, potential for consulting, and travel grants.
Professional Development: Support for international research conferences, visiting fellowships, and dedicated time for scholarly publishing.
Advanced Facilities: Access to state-of-the-art robotics labs, high-performance computing resources, and specialized automation hardware.
Comprehensive Benefits: Full insurance coverage, academic leave, and retirement benefits in accordance with local labor laws.
Career Growth: Defined pathways to Tenured Associate/Full Professor, Research Group Lead, or Department Chair.
