Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Training Support Specialist in Public Finance to join our academic/professional training team. As government fiscal policies, budgetary processes, and public sector management become increasingly complex, your role is to provide essential support in the delivery of high-quality training programs. You will facilitate the execution of workshops and courses, ensuring that professionals and students grasp the mechanics of government revenue, expenditure management, fiscal policy, and the economic impact of public sector decisions.
Job Responsibilities
Program Coordination: Oversee the logistical and administrative execution of Public Finance training modules, ensuring that lecture materials, case studies, and digital learning platforms are ready and optimized.
Instructional Support: Assist Lead Instructors by facilitating Q&A sessions, managing technical aids for classroom discussions, and providing support on complex topics such as fiscal policy design, tax reform, and government accounting standards (e.g., IPSAS).
Curriculum Development Support: Assist in maintaining and updating training curricula to reflect current economic contexts, including debt sustainability analysis, public-private partnerships (PPP), and local versus central government fiscal relations.
Applied Workshop Facilitation: Manage practical lab sessions where learners utilize tools for public expenditure tracking, budget forecasting models, and performance-based budgeting simulations.
Assessment & Feedback Management: Coordinate the grading of assignments and capstone projects. Maintain accurate records of learner progress and provide supplemental guidance on technical concepts to ensure high comprehension.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a bridge between learners, government agencies, and industry subject matter experts. Organize professional seminars, guest lectures, and policy roundtables.
Quality Control: Collect and analyze learner feedback to identify gaps in training, providing actionable insights to the program management team to improve overall learning outcomes.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Finance, Economics, Public Administration, Accounting, or a related field (a Master’s degree is highly preferred).
Experience: 1–3 years of professional experience in public administration, government auditing, fiscal policy analysis, or an educational support role within a professional training environment.
Technical Skills:
Strong grasp of fiscal policy, budgetary processes, and public sector accounting principles.
Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, STATA, or SPSS) and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Familiarity with public financial management (PFM) software and government data reporting standards.
Soft Skills:
Analytical Precision: Ability to digest complex economic and policy-related information and communicate it effectively to diverse audiences.
Professional Integrity: Understanding of the ethical considerations inherent in public sector financial management.
Organizational Excellence: Proven ability to manage multiple logistical deadlines in a highly structured academic or governmental environment.
