We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and clinically skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be the vital link between patients and providers, assisting with both clinical procedures and administrative tasks to ensure a smooth, efficient, and patient-centered clinical experience. Key Responsibilities
Patient Care: Greet patients, record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, weight, temperature), update medical histories, and prepare patients for examinations or procedures.
Clinical Support: Assist healthcare providers during physical exams and minor surgical procedures; perform basic diagnostic tests (e.g., EKG, phlebotomy, CLIA-waived labs) as directed.
Administrative Tasks: Manage patient appointments, verify insurance information, update electronic health records (EHR), and handle patient correspondence via phone or portal.
Sterilization & Safety: Maintain sterile environments, properly sterilize medical instruments, and adhere strictly to HIPAA and OSHA regulations for patient privacy and workplace safety.
Medication Management: Assist with medication administration, inventory management for medical supplies, and ensuring all samples and pharmaceuticals are stored/disposed of correctly.
Patient Education: Provide patients with pre- and post-visit instructions, answer basic questions regarding care plans, and ensure patients feel comfortable and informed.
Team Collaboration: Partner with front-office staff, nurses, and physicians to maintain efficient patient flow and contribute to a professional, empathetic clinical environment.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and current Medical Assistant Certification (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA) is highly preferred.
Experience: 1–2+ years of clinical experience in an outpatient or primary care setting is desirable; strong clinical competence is required.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in EHR/EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks).
Solid grasp of medical terminology and clinical documentation standards.
Competence in phlebotomy, injection administration, and routine clinical equipment.
Personal Attributes:
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact with patients from diverse backgrounds with empathy and patience.
High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skill in a fast-paced setting.
Strong commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and professional ethical standards.
Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work effectively as part of a high-functioning healthcare team.
