We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and security-focused Database Administrator (DBA) to design, manage, and optimize all database systems for our new luxury hotel and resort during the pre-opening and operational phases.
This critical role ensures high availability, performance, security, and integrity of databases supporting the Property Management System (PMS – Opera or similar), Magento 2 e-commerce, booking engine, guest CRM, finance systems, and other operational platforms.
As Database Administrator, you will work closely with the DevOps Engineer, Security Solution Architect, Senior Delivery Manager, and development teams to build a robust, scalable, and compliant data infrastructure on AWS cloud.
Key Responsibilities
Database Design & Management

Design, implement, and maintain relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle) and NoSQL databases as needed.
Optimize database performance, indexing, query tuning, and storage management for high-traffic hospitality systems.

Cloud Database Architecture

Manage AWS database services (RDS, Aurora, Redshift, DynamoDB, ElastiCache).
Implement high availability, disaster recovery, backup strategies, and replication solutions.

System Integration & Support

Support integration and data flow between PMS, Magento 2, booking engine, payment systems, and other applications.
Ensure smooth data migration during pre-opening system implementation.
Monitor and troubleshoot database issues to minimize downtime.

Security & Compliance

Implement strong database security controls, encryption, access management, and auditing.
Ensure compliance with PCI DSS, PDPA/GDPR, and Vietnam data protection regulations.
Support document verification, audit trails, and security assessments for all database environments.

Monitoring & Automation

Set up proactive monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning using CloudWatch, Prometheus, or similar tools.
Automate routine DBA tasks using scripts and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
Collaborate on data archiving, reporting, and analytics solutions.

Pre-Opening Focus

Build and validate production-ready database environments before soft opening and grand opening.
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and performance/load testing.

Requirements & Qualifications
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Experience

6–10+ years as a Database Administrator in complex enterprise environments.
Proven experience with hospitality systems (PMS/Opera, POS, booking engines) or e-commerce platforms is highly desirable.
Strong AWS cloud database experience is a big advantage.

Technical Skills

Expertise in MySQL / PostgreSQL / Aurora (mandatory) and Oracle/SQL Server (preferred).
Deep knowledge of AWS RDS, Aurora, backup & recovery, and performance optimization.
Proficiency in SQL tuning, database scripting (PL/SQL, T-SQL), and automation.
Experience with Magento 2 database schema and high-traffic transactional systems.
Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL processes, and BI tools is a plus.

Language & Soft Skills

Excellent command of English (spoken and written). Vietnamese is a strong advantage.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced pre-opening environment.
