Check with seller Lecturer, Business Statistics
- Location: Hai Phong City, vietnam
We are seeking an analytical and engaging Lecturer in Business Statistics to join our faculty. In an era defined by data-driven decision-making, your role is to demystify statistical concepts and empower students to transform raw data into actionable business intelligence. You will bridge the gap between theoretical probability and real-world managerial strategy, ensuring students graduate with the quantitative literacy required to lead in a competitive global market.
Job Responsibilities
Instructional Delivery: Lead courses including Descriptive & Inferential Statistics, Regression Analysis, Forecasting, Data Visualization, and Statistical Programming.
Curriculum Innovation: Design a curriculum that emphasizes applied statistics—moving beyond theory to focus on how businesses use data to optimize pricing, predict demand, analyze consumer behavior, and mitigate risk.
Applied Lab Facilitation: Lead hands-on computing labs where students work with industry-standard tools (e.g., MS Excel, R, Python, SPSS, or Tableau) to analyze business datasets.
Research & Scholarship: Engage in research related to business analytics, statistical methodology in management, economic forecasting, or the impact of data-informed culture on organizational performance.
Mentorship & Tutoring: Provide support to students who find quantitative subjects challenging, fostering a learning environment that prioritizes confidence and mastery over rote memorization.
Capstone Oversight: Guide students through capstone projects that require them to formulate a research question, collect/clean data, apply appropriate statistical tests, and present findings to a non-technical audience.
Departmental Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues in Finance, Marketing, and Operations to ensure that statistics instruction is integrated and relevant to the broader business curriculum.
Job Requirements
Education: Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, or a related field (a PhD is strongly preferred).
Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in data analysis, market research, or business intelligence, combined with prior tertiary teaching experience.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in statistical software (Excel, R, Python, SAS, or SPSS).
Strong grasp of statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, and time-series analysis.
Knowledge of modern data visualization techniques to communicate insights effectively.
Soft Skills:
Clarity and Simplicity: Exceptional ability to break down complex mathematical concepts into intuitive, business-relevant language.
Patient Mentorship: A high degree of patience and empathy for students, particularly those who may have "math anxiety."
Critical Thinking: Ability to model how to identify bias in data, ask the right questions, and interpret results with healthy skepticism.
Contextualization: A passion for showing students why the numbers matter for a business leader’s bottom line.
Benefits
Competitive Compensation: Attractive academic salary package with potential for research grants and consulting funding.
Professional Development: Support for advanced statistical training, participation in data science conferences, and research publishing opportunities.
Modern Environment: Access to high-performance computing labs, diverse business datasets, and collaborative workspace.
Comprehensive Benefits: Full insurance coverage, academic leave, and retirement benefits in accordance with local labor laws.
Career Growth: Defined pathways toward Tenured Associate Professor, Program Director of Business Analytics, or Data Strategy Lead.

Industry Keywords: Statistical Inference, Regression Modeling, Business Analytics, Predictive Forecasting, Data Visualization, Quantitative Methods, Decision Science.
Attributes: Analytical, Clear, Patient, Methodical, Business-oriented, Inquisitive.
